Brussels sprouts grading technology

External quality

Our high-resolution cameras enable better visual identification of the shape and characteristics of the products. TrueSort allows customers to quickly establish “variety specific” grading parameters and programs. Defects can be identified based upon threshold of parameters such as, defect severity in size, severity in area percentage on the whole surface or number of defects on the surface. This allows us to provide consistent detection of the most prevalent external defects such as black scar, fresh cuts, loose skin, bacterial spots and sunburn.

Colour Seperation

Our colour module can determine – based on live feedback from the cameras – the colour in order to grade the fruit (for example, to detect yellow leaf on Brussels sprouts). Accurate colour separations are obtained through TrueSort™ intuitive software that enables operators to quickly create or modify colour profiles for different kinds of Brussels sprout.

Size seperation

To measure the entire surface, the product is rotated under the camera and multiple images are taken. Using these images, the diameter, length and volume are accurately calculated. Combining these factors, shape defects are detected. 

Volumetric weight

Weight can be calculated from the volume that is measured in the camera images. The operator of the machine can monitor the average product weight and capacity per hour on the dashboard of the TrueSort™ software.
