    Kiwi grading technology

    External quality

Our high-resolution cameras enable better visual identification of the shape and characteristics of the kiwi fruit. Our grading technology allows customers to quickly establish “variety specific” grading parameters and programs. Defects can be identified based upon threshold on parameters such as, defect severity in size, severity in area percentage on the whole surface or number of defects on the surface. TrueSort™ accurately detects defects such as sunburn, russet, flat kiwi, scar tissue, rotten fruit and even internal quality such as firmness or softness.

    Colour separation

Accurate colour separations are obtained through TrueSort™ intuitive software that enables operators to quickly create or modify colour profiles for different types of kiwi fruit. For example, the operator can easily select what percentage of the kiwi fruits surface should have a certain shade of green.

    Size separation

To measure the entire surface, the kiwi fruit is rotated under the camera and multiple images are taken. Using these images the diameter, length and volume of the kiwi fruit can be determined. Sizing defects can also be detected such as misshaped or flat kiwis.

TrueSort™ can accurately measure the weight of your kiwi fruit at a top speed of 15 products per second per lane. The system automatically corrects for the weight drift of each cup caused by temperature differences or the build-up of dust during the day.
